What the Deluxe Edition Actually Adds

This is the detail most summaries get wrong: the Deluxe Edition is not purely cosmetic. It includes the Ceremonial Armor Set and the Axe of the Gods — a full armour set and a unique weapon that give you a real head start on early runs rather than a skin — plus entitlement to one post-launch content expansion.

The expansion is the catch. It is still in development, and the storefront states that its content, features and release timing are not finalised and are subject to change. You are pre-paying for something with no date attached.

Should You Buy Deluxe?

Probably not at first. The $9.99 upgrade exists precisely so you can decide later, once you know whether the combat loop holds you and whether the expansion has become a real, dated product.

The gear head start is also worth less than it sounds if you enjoy the game's actual arc, which is building a permanent catalog from scratch. Starting with a complete armour set skips the part where early progression means something.
