What Platforms Is Crimson Moon On?
Updated September 4, 2026
Crimson Moon is on PC through both Steam and the Epic Games Store, on PlayStation 5, and on Xbox Series X|S. Crossplay works across all of them and is on by default, but there is no cross-progression, so your save does not follow you to another platform. It is not on Game Pass.
Confirmed Platforms
- PC — Steam
- 50 GB, 30 achievements, 8 languages
- PC — Epic Games Store
- Same game; had shader stutter at launch
- PlayStation 5
- DualSense support, 13 accessibility options
- Xbox Series X|S
- Current-gen only, no Xbox One version
- Crossplay
- All platforms, enabled by default
- Cross-progression
- Not supported at launch
Crossplay Works, Cross-Progression Does Not
A PS5 player can invite someone on Xbox Series X|S or PC, and any other combination works too. Crossplay is enabled by default — there is no setting to turn on first.
Cross-progression is the part people get wrong. Buying on one platform does not let you carry your character, catalog or purchases to another. Pick the platform you intend to keep playing on, and if you are buying to play with a specific friend, only the crossplay half of that matters.
Which PC Store to Buy On
The game is identical on Steam and the Epic Games Store, but the launch-window bug reports were not. Shader compilation stuttering was reported specifically on the Epic build, and Friends List problems affected Epic and PlayStation 5.
Steam also carries the achievement set, Cloud saves and the developer's patch-note feed, which is where PC updates are announced first. Unless you have a reason to prefer Epic, Steam is the lower-friction choice today.
Console Notes
The PlayStation 5 version advertises DualSense vibration and adaptive-trigger support in both solo and co-op, plus 13 accessibility options, and PlayStation buyers receive the Sonai Magistrate Armor Set at launch regardless of which edition they bought.
On Xbox, Crimson Moon is current-generation only — there is no Xbox One build, so the Series S is the entry point. Online co-op follows the usual console online-play requirements: PlayStation Plus on PS5, and your account's normal Xbox online arrangements.
Platforms That Missed Out
- No Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version announced
- Not available on Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass
- No native macOS or Linux build
- Steam Deck support has been said to be coming, but there is no verified rating yet — and save-sync failures on Deck are on the known-issues list
Frequently Asked Questions
- Is Crimson Moon on Game Pass?
- No. Crimson Moon is not on Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass. It is sold as a standard purchase on Steam, the Epic Games Store, the PlayStation Store and the Xbox store.
- Does Crimson Moon have crossplay?
- Yes, across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, and it is enabled by default with no setting to switch on. Co-op is capped at two players.
- Does Crimson Moon have cross-progression?
- No. Cross-progression is not supported at launch, so progress bought and earned on one platform cannot be transferred to another.
- Does Crimson Moon run on Steam Deck?
- The developer has said Steam Deck support is planned, but there is no verified compatibility rating yet, and Steam Deck save-synchronisation failures currently appear on the official known-issues list.
