Crimson Moon Bugs and Known Issues

Updated September 4, 2026

ProbablyMonsters maintains a public known-issues list. Open items include crashes during combat and ray tracing, a host crash in Ramshorn Keep, several co-op session bugs, and an identified issue where existing save data can be lost when updating the game. Patch 1.0.0.1 has already added PC key remapping; Hotfix 1.0.1 is in preparation.

Already Fixed: Patch 1.0.0.1

The single biggest launch complaint — no keyboard and mouse remapping on PC — has been addressed. Patch 1.0.0.1 (build 162350) added basic keyboard and mouse remapping along with mouse sensitivity controls.

The developer described this as a first Alpha implementation rather than the finished feature, so expect further refinement. It is nonetheless the change that turned the Steam review trend around.

  • Existing save data can be lost when updating the game

  • Account issues that prevent the Main Menu from loading

  • Felwyl's death sequence can be skipped with certain attacks

  • Oversized interaction areas around dropped loot

What Hotfix 1.0.1 Targets

Hotfix 1.0.1 is in preparation and is planned to cover the issues above alongside additional stability, UI, audio and localisation fixes. Full patch notes will be published when it ships, so check the Steam news feed rather than relying on this page for the final list.

Protecting Your Progress Right Now

  • Back up your save before applying an update — save loss on update is a known issue
  • Turn ray tracing off first if you are crashing in combat
  • Confirm Steam Cloud has synced before assuming a save is gone
  • Extract and purify after a good haul instead of pushing one more fight
  • Play solo during the launch window if co-op disconnects are ruining runs
